IPTV Extreme on Apple TV

Apple TV 4K is one of the best boxes for live TV. It is fast, the remote is good, and the picture is excellent. You will install a player from the tvOS App Store and sign in.

  • About 10 min
  • Easy
  • iPlayTV, Smarters Player Lite or TiviMate (tvOS)

Before you start

  • Apple TV signed in with your Apple ID
  • Your IPTV Extreme login
  • An iPhone nearby makes typing easier (it pops up a keyboard)

Step by step

  1. Open the App Store on Apple TV

Search for iPlayTV, Smarters Player Lite or TiviMate. Each one has its own Apple TV version. Some are free, iPlayTV is a one-time purchase from its developer.

  2. Sign in with the details we send you

Right after you order, we message you on WhatsApp with three things: a username, a password and a server URL. Pick "Login with Xtream Codes API" (sometimes just called "Xtream Codes") and type them in exactly as written.

    • Any name works in the "Playlist name" box. Most people type "IPTV Extreme".
    • The server URL starts with http://. Keep the port number at the end if there is one.
    • Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. A capital letter in the wrong place is the most common sign-in error we see.
  3. Let the first load finish

The first time you sign in, the app pulls in live channels, movies, series and the program guide. That takes one to three minutes depending on your connection. Leave it alone until the progress bars are done.

    • Open Live TV, pick a category like "USA SPORTS" and start any channel to test.
    • Star the channels you watch most. They land in Favorites at the top of the list.
  4. Set match frame rate

Go to Settings > Video and Audio > Match Content and turn on Match Frame Rate. Sports at 60 fps will look a lot smoother.

If typing with the Siri Remote drives you crazy, let your iPhone keyboard notification take over. It appears automatically when a text box is selected.

If something goes wrong

Some channels have a black screen

In the player settings, switch to the alternative video engine (often labeled VLC or KSPlayer). Apple TV handles a few stream formats better that way.
