Before you start
- A Roku with Screen Mirroring (most models from 2019 on)
- An Android phone or Windows PC on the same Wi-Fi
Step by step
Option A: Mirror from your phone or PC
On the Roku go to Settings > System > Screen mirroring and set it to Prompt or Always allow. Then set up IPTV Extreme on your Android phone or Windows PC using those guides.
- Android: swipe down, tap Smart View or Cast, pick your Roku.
- Windows: press Windows + K and choose your Roku.
- iPhone mirroring to Roku uses AirPlay, which only works on newer Roku models that list AirPlay in Settings.
Option B: Plug a Firestick into the same TV
Honestly, this is what we recommend. A Fire TV Stick costs around $25 on sale, sits in a spare HDMI port, and gives you a proper channel guide with a remote. Follow the Firestick guide.
Mirroring sends your phone screen to the TV, so the phone has to stay on and awake. Fine for a movie, not great for a whole Sunday of football.
If something goes wrong
Mirroring lags behind the audio
Move closer to the router or switch both devices to 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Mirroring is very sensitive to Wi-Fi quality.
